Sen Sinema hosts roundtable at UA

Senator Sinema Holds Space and Defense Roundtable on Campus

United States Senator Kyrsten Sinema visited campus last week to tour UA’s hypersonics facilities and to discuss space and defense issues with UA experts and industry partners in Southern Arizona. President Robbins and Engineering Dean David Hahn thanked Sinema for her continued support for UA, including hypersonic research and support for the NEO Surveyor mission.

The Senate Appropriations Committee invited the University of Arizona and Raytheon to the State Capitol to provide an update on the state’s investment in UA’s hypersonic wind tunnel lab. Last year the state provided $3.5 million to upgrade the wind tunnels as part of the New Economy Initiative (NEI).
